1/4" Roughing End Mill
Tungsten Carbide with Nano Blue Coating
Overview
This 1/4" roughing end mill is designed for fast material removal while keeping cutting forces low. The serrated cutting profile breaks chips into smaller pieces, reducing load on the spindle and allowing for more aggressive feeds compared to a standard end mill.
Built from solid tungsten carbide and finished with a Nano Blue coating, this bit pairs extremely well with CNC spindle systems where consistent RPM and torque allow it to shine.
Why Use This Bit
-
Rapid material removal with reduced spindle load
-
Serrated flutes minimize chatter and vibration
-
Nano Blue coating helps manage heat and extend tool life
-
Excellent choice for roughing passes before finishing cuts
-
Performs especially well on rigid CNC machines with spindles
Spindle RPM & Feed Guidance
Start conservatively and increase as your machine allows:
-
RPM: 14,000 – 18,000
-
Feed Rate: 180 – 280 IPM
-
Plunge Rate: 50 – 80 IPM
This bit is intended for roughing, not final surface finish. Use deeper passes and higher feed rates than a standard end mill, then follow up with a finishing tool for best results.
Best Applications
-
Hardwood
-
Softwood
-
Plywood
-
MDF
-
Plastics
