1/8" Down-Cut End Mill
Tungsten Carbide with Nano Blue Coating
Overview
This 1/8" down-cut end mill is designed for clean top-edge finishes and fine detail work. The down-cut geometry pushes chips downward into the cut, helping prevent tear-out on the top surface of the material, which makes it ideal for visible parts, inlays, and precision profiling.
Constructed from solid tungsten carbide and finished with a Nano Blue coating, this bit is well suited for spindle-driven CNC machines where stable RPM and smooth motion matter most.
Why Use This Bit
-
Excellent top-surface finish with minimal tear-out
-
Ideal for fine details, small pockets, and profiles
-
Nano Blue coating improves heat resistance and tool life
-
Strong 1/4" shank provides added rigidity compared to reduced-shank tools
Spindle RPM & Feed Guidance
Smaller diameter tools require higher RPM and lighter cuts:
-
RPM: 18,000 – 24,000
-
Feed Rate: 80 – 150 IPM
-
Plunge Rate: 25 – 50 IPM
Use conservative depths of cut and avoid chip packing by clearing slots frequently.
Best Applications
-
Plywood and veneered sheet goods
-
Hardwood and softwood
-
MDF
-
Plastics

Notes
-
Down-cut tools can pack chips in deep slots, use lighter passes
-
Not recommended for aggressive deep pocketing without clearing moves
-
Excellent choice for finishing passes and detailed work
